Rockerilla (IT)

First under the alias Light Of Woods (Field Notes, 2016) and then with the abbreviation M. Grig (two EPs in the last two years), Mike Grigoni explores an electro-acoustic constellation linked to the environment nature and the impressions associated with it. The artist from Durham, North Carolina, condenses for the first time in an organic album a congeries of personal visions and memories, embodied by a sequence of notes quietly dripping from the strings of an acoustic guitar, a dobrc and a lap steel. Grigoni’s peculiar “environmental” declination does not contemplate any electronic filtering, but only field recordings and occasional vocals to frame the Ecstatic PURITY. – Raffaello Russo
